A fraken men brother.
Today I always wear my “sometimes violence is the only answer” T shirt. I have just lost clear focus of just who we need to apply the violence to. Muslims, or politicians.
I’ve decided to go with the flow and hate them both.
Nick, Rome wasn’t built in a day, and yes, while it’s been what, nine years, the rebuilding of the area is gonna take a while. Remember, they spent like TWO years carefully removing the destroyed and damaged buildings, looking for the remains of those who were murdered by those blastphimous asses. And then there was another two years or so of arguments as to whether or not ANYTHING, should be built on the site. So this re-build is gonna take a while. I think I heard them say everything should be completed by 2013.
Also, try to remember Nick, it’s not Muslims as a whole who are to blame, only those who belong to the radical extremist side of Muslim and Islam. As an Air Force vet, who was shaking in outrage as I watched the events play out that horrific morning, I still have passing thoughts that the whole area of the middle east, where those morons came from should just be wiped off the face of the earth, cosequences be dammed. But then the more logical side of me remembers that not ALL Muslims, and not ALL Islams, are blastphimous radical extremists. Just a few, and that few make the whole look bad. Just like the radical left and radical right make the majority of “normal” people look bad in THIS country.
Just… never forget those who we lost in New York, Pennsylvania, and the Pentagon that day. If we take time to rebuild, that’s fine, at least we ARE rebuilding. Who knows, maybe the hold-up is because they are trying to get the clearance to install SAMs and AA equipment on the rooftops, that way this doesn’t happen again. **wink-wink** Either that, or they are installing BETTER evac modes in the buildings, in case it happens again. Either way, be patient young grasshopper. I’d rather they took their time and re-bult all of that RIGHT, rather than hurry it up, and get it wrong.
I’ve always believed that the 9/11 Memorial Center needed to be on the 200th floor of the World Trade Center, right above the anti-aircraft laser cannons.
Have you ever wondered why muslims bow their way out of a room from another muslim? They know if they turn their backs to leave, a knife will quickly be placed in it.

Hey! They’ve made plans to build a mosque, er Muslim cultural center, just down the street. As for excusing lack of progress — they’ve had twice as long as it took to fight WW II, more time than it took to declare mission accomplished twice in Iraq, longer than it took to get to the moon. The fact that we probably can’t do the last again is a hint when this will get done.
In the 1920s General Billy Mitchel said the population supporting the war effort were just as much a combatant as the front line soldier. Countries take our money supposedly to fight terrison and use it for something else. IF you support our enmies YOU are OUR enemy. Christians have fought Muslims before. It didn’t turn out good. The ONLY way we will win as a society and stay true to ideals is if we figure out how to get Muslims to take care of it themselves. I heard a quote from a lady who lost her sister in the towers. “We don’t want to make this ( the towers ) Christian only land. That’s not America”
I will NEVER forget, and I will NEVER forgive.
Nearly 3000 of my countrymen and women, including many of my brothers and sisters in blue who ran into those buildings to save lives, were murdered that day. Only through the grace of God, and the courage of so many (including the heroes of Flight 93) was the death toll not far higher.
I used to think that Islam as a whole wasn’t to blame… but I know the truth now. Islam commands that non-believers (infidels) either convert or be killed… THAT is the truth of the Muslim religion. It is in the Koran… so the words of ‘peace’ that the Muslims speak are bald-faced LIES. But then, the Koran also tells Muslims that they are allowed to lie to the infidels as much as they want.
We need peace, that is true… but I think that they only peace that the rest of the world can have with the Muslim one is like Genghis Khan’s definition… although it was after his death, when the Mongols finished conquering much of the Middle East (including virtually leveling Baghdad… Tamerlane did nearly the same things 2 centuries later), they had smashed Muslim power in those areas and depopulated much of the area. The quote I remember is “They made a desert and called it ‘peace’”.

But Christianity has outgrown that kind of BS (yes there are radical ‘Christians’ – but they are a VERY small minority, and are NOT accepted/supported by the mainstream Christians and Christian groups)… Islam is STILL the most dangerous major religion in the world. For its entire existence, Israel has been repeatedly attacked from all sides. Is it any wonder that they fight so hard to defend themselves????
If the Jews had been like the Muslims, after they captured Jerusalem, they would have removed the Muslim temples from the Temple Mount, and either left the site bare or built another Jewish Temple. And of anyone, the Jews have the best reason to hate virtually everyone else.

I remember that day well, as we all do. I had a flag strapped to my car for a full year after it happened. When I drove around my town the evening after when the candlelight vigils were being held and saw the news reports of the WORLD crying with us, it made me proud of the nation that we are. A melting pot – just as my 6th grade Social-Studies teacher had taught us.
So, I was raised as a Baptist. Does that mean that I want to be lumped together with the fucks from Westboro Baptist Church?!? Hell no! I consider myself an enlightened, tolerant, and loving person to all (nah – most). Hell, I was a best man in a gay wedding last month.
My point is this: Hate Al Queda. Hate the Taliban. Hate the radical imams that preach fear and hate. Celebrate every time an American bullet (hopefully soaked in pork) finds its way into one of them. Don’t hate the 95% or more that never show on the radar because they are loving, tolerant, honorable people.
Let’s show the rest of the world exactly what this great nation is about, and hug a neighborhood Arab. That’s the biggest bomb we could drop on the backwards fucks that were behind this.

I was as horrified, angry and disgusted with the events of 9 years ago but there needs to be some sort tolerance or this entire world/species will be smoldering in a big radioactive hole in the ground before too long. We can’t lump any population or race with the mentals that subscribe to it.
But go beyond that, as binkley said, extend the olive branch, imagine if you were living in a country that literally HATED your people, your religion, your race! And then think how you’ll feel if just one neighbour came round with something nice to say.

I take offense at the lumping of those that follow Islam because I’ve worked and talked and lived shoulder to shoulder with them while stationed in Baghdad. I remember sitting here in front of my computer and seeing the news flash across the TV that there was an aircraft crashed into one of the towers.
I sat here and watched video of the 2nd plane hitting.
When I saw the first tower collapse, I was shocked and horrified.
Then the second tower came down and I felt sick.
I couldn’t believe so many people could be dead.
As the days passed and more information came to light, I suddenly found myself wondering how totally removed from any morality people could get to do such acts.
How could any God not condemn the actions of people who kill so many people in their name?
God DOES condemn not only the actions, but the PEOPLE. Every single Muslim, radical or otherwise, is cast into Hell. Do not pass GO, Do not collect 72 Virginians. (Or is that virgins…Although if they collected 72 Virginians, I imagine George Washington would be the first in line to give an ass kicking.)
My point. God’s thoughts are not our thoughts, nor are God’s ways our ways. We won’t comprehend this during our earthly life, but faith is what assures us that God does indeed condemn those who do not believe in Him.

If you want your life to be simple you are always going to be disappointed.
Yes, there are lots of people who call themselves Muslims and do evil things. Sometimes they even turn up living among us. Scary, upsetting, all kinds of BAD all over that shit.
But once again, as I have so often pointed out to others, there are Muslims buried in our military cemeteries. Some who earned high honors for bravery defending this Republic. Not just long ago but recently, today, right now there are Americans in combat who happen to be Muslim.
I cannot look at all those who have fought, died or are at risk right now for us and pretend that Muslims are not among America’s Heroes. As much as I wanted to see the entire Middle East reduced to an expanse of glowing green glass on Sept. 11 2001, I control my emotions and see the truth.
Truth is the world is not a simple place. Neither Friends nor Enemies come wrapped up all neat and tidy and plainly labeled. People who are our deadliest enemies share things in common with our dearest friends. This has always been the case, in every conflict we have ever fought.
That is some fucked up truth right there, but it is truth and we can either deal with or we can make things worse.
I choose to deal with it.

A politician is a politician. The problem is finding statesmen and women. I think the last of the statesmen in Congress died not terribly long ago. A fellow who was out in the real world first and took time off his job and business to come to the capital and do his civic duty. Might have heard of him. A fellow in the senate by the name of Robert Byrd. He had lived and worked in the real world and only came to the Senate afterward. Yes, his party affiliation was DNC. I don’t really care. His voting record is the thing, and he, to the best of my knowledge, voted in the interests of the people he represented, rather than those of lobbyists.

Nick was right, but is now out of date. Building has been going on there for sometime now. It took far too long, too much politics, too many delays. One Governor and one mayor played too many games. When are people going to stop legitimizing the CRIMINAL acts? When you call it “terrorism” you’re calling it something other than a crime. Muslims detest murderers as much as “Christians” but are more vocal about it. Not all Muslims hate Americans, and I can’t blame them for hating us when we threaten to burn the Koran. Threaten to burn a bible and the “Christians” want to string you up. What a bunch of hypocrites!
Legitimizing? WTF? Terrorism is a class of criminal activity. Classifying types of crimes under descriptive headings does not “legitimize” them, it just gives you a reference you can understand, so you know a little bit more about it.
That is why we call someone who breaks into your house and steals your stuff is a Burglar, but if he does it to a bank he is a Bank Robber. Both are crimes, both are robberies, but the descriptive titles let us know something more about them.
Yeah, terrorists are all sorts of other criminals wrapped up in one big ugly package. Murderers. Thieves. Bank Robbers. Drug Smugglers. Lots of other stuff.
So we call them what they are to avoid having to hyphenate many different crimes into absurdly long strings.
And yeah, I can blame those who would hate all of us for the lunatic actions of some book burning nut job and his itty bitty insignificant pack of miscreants, absolutely.

I think it’s an issue of too many cooks. One hundred people doing their own thing will have the same progress as one person working alone (assuming they don’t get in each other’s way).
The most salient point must be that civilized people care what side you are on in a conflict. Terrorists and extremists don’t. Would that Florida pastor burn a Koran in front of a returning Muslim soldier or Muslim 9/11 widow and orphan? If the assertion is that ALL Muslims are evil then dig up every grave in Arlington with a crescent on the headstone. Cut off every 9/11 survivor’s benefits going to a Muslim.
It is essential that distinction are made. Otherwise there will be a repeat of WWII, where Japanese Americans were deemed not American enough but German Americans were.
For the Muslim part, I agree with those saying not to lump them together. There is good and bad in all peoples, no matter what ethnic or religious background, and Christians have done their fair share of wrongdoing in the name of their god (which is ironically the same god as that of Muslims…)
But…
For me the main bitch would be Ground Zero. WTC 7 started being rebuilt in 02, and was finished in 06, meaning it only took 4 years. 1 WTC, according to Wikipedia, was started in 06 and they are predicting 2013 for completion, making it a good 7 years, and that isnt even mentioning the ground breaking was done on the others in 08. Yup, you gotta love politicians and their piss-farting around, dragging their heels on stuff
Well, 1 WTC (Freedom Tower) is significantly taller. It’s a 1,776 foot-tall building. That’s a big ass building.
I do realise it is going to be a taller building than 7, but still, they worked things out and finished building by the time they started with 1. If there weren’t all the bullshitting around, they would have had it sorted what to do by 03, and it would probably be built by now, maybe next year.

Actually, you could not be more wrong.
In the Muslim world, you will notice that their “Leaders” all are very ruthless, bloodthirsty people. They don’t respect persons whom show weakness. Our talk of polical correctness just demonstrates to them that we are weak. Our talk of humanitarianism is a weakness (in their eyes) and not deserving of their respect. This is why they get leaders like Saddam Hussein in power.
If we turned the middle east into a radioactive mirror, we would have showed ruthlessness, and forcing their respect. We didn’t and they still are showing us nothing but disrespect.
Unfortunately, the way Islam is structured, it lends itself well to abuse by a radical sect since it has no higher level oversight. Christianity has been abused in the same ways, just more difficult but not impossible.
You want them to stop, you need to go after them with NO sense of fair play. The only rule you can use is “You are going to die”, else they will keep coming because they don’t respect or fear us in any way.
It isn’t ISLAM that behaves that way; it is the Arab/Middle Eastern CULTURE that behaves that way. We sometimes forget that the two are separate. Change “Muslim” to “Arab” in the previous post, and I’d agree.
Which doesn’t make your proposal incorrect, because crater glass probably would have worked just fine as a worldwide terrorism preventative. (I felt the same way in 1979, when our squadron ready room sported a poster saying “Revive America’s Glass-Making Industries. Use the Silver Bullet On Iran!” And this one; “Enlighten Iran. Open A Little Can of SUNSHINE!”)
Just remember that the Baathists in Iraq, like Saddam, were only peripherally “muslim”. They don’t care much about ANY religion other than the religion of power. Yes, they POSED as Muslims, but that was more for convenience than by any real belief in God. It was the Middle-Eastern way, not Islam, that caused these headaches.

It should be easy to remember that Muslim =/= Arab, when you remember that the MAJORITY of Muslims around the world are NOT Arabs. According to the 2009 PEW population report, there are about 1.5 billion Muslims in the world and over 60% of them live in the “Asia-Pacific” region, not the Middle East. They live in Indonesia, Pakistan, India & Bangladesh.
The Late Great President Ronald Reagan had the best idea for dealing with terrorists. He put a bounty on their heads. Someone, usually within their own collected it. I lived this time but it has been forgotten and religion is null for this activity.
As for ‘I’m sorry’ or ‘I apologize’ for Muslim or Terrorists-Bull. Actions caused this and it will take actions to correct it. Do Muslims or Terrorists or their ilk help support the families injured? No. Do they educate to prevent terrorism in the future? No. Do they do anything but talk? No.
Talk is cheap and I want to see them, as a community and as individuals take responsibility for their actions.

I have trouble with this religion.
In my religious moments, I try and find where in the Old testament or new testament you are supposed to lie steal and kill. Please tell me where it is found.
I know where there lots of stupid stuff. I know that the Catholic church and all of the protestant churches fail to match the teachings. But where does the bible say that you should lie, and kill non Jews or Christians? In it part of Buddhism or Hinduism or whatever is this ok.
I also know there are people who are Muslim who are good kind caring people. Just like I know that there are Catholics who are pedophiles or Protestants like Jim Bakker but that is failure to live up to the standards. It is not attempts to live up to the standards.

The religious fanatics/extremeists can turn their holy book/teachings into an excuse to kill, steal, rape, torture, etc by the simple way of picking and choosing the scripture and using the excuse that unbelievers are not the same as believers.

After Islam established itself in the middle east, the study of sciences not related to food or farming were discouraged and later heavily restricted. Arts were censored and the possession of mathematics books by non-muslims was prohibted.
Courts turned from arbiters and coucils of justice, to chambers where Muslim vengance could be issued against non-Muslims. Of course, in Islamic courts, an infidel may not be present and does not have a right (only a privilege if granted) to have a Muslim lawyer speak on his behalf. And such a lawyer is warned not to be too zealous lest he be marked as a supporter of infidels.
The system is rigged. It is rigged against non-believers, against women, against any outsiders and often against its own people.

I think it’s telling that Islam is male-dominated, proclaims men are more stable, thoughtful and intelligent than women, more capable decision makers and yet, for all this, they claim the mere sight of a woman’s bare calf can so incite their “passions and lusts” that they are unable to control themselves while they rape and beat the woman into a bloody pulp. And the courts believe this nonsense and condone it.
I’ve not met that many Muslims in my time. And I’ve asked even fewer the question of “If your son at, say age 23, tells you he no longer believes in Islam, what then?” Out of about eight, only one said “He will find his own beliefs one day.” The others ranged from disowning the son to “avenging the family honor” (i.e. killing him).

After 9-11 happened some people in Congress or the military said that we should go after the country where the highjackers were from ,well we now know where they were from “Saudi Arabia” anything happen to that country yet. I’m still waiting to bomb that country off the map.
