Now, THAT’S out of this world.
And THAT’s worth having a celebration!
Now if I can only last more than 5 minutes at a time with her.
Fifth of May and a fifth of scotch and awa-a-ay we go.
Maybe a fifth of Sangria or a fifth of tequila ?que no?
Damn my Spanish is rusty.
Thanks for wishing us a happy May Fifth, and I certainly don’t care that she’s a Spaniard rather than Latina, she’s still gorgeous!
That’s not a Mercedes. That’s a girl! Stop being silly.
Still, both are high maintenance!
Mercedes is a girl – the girl the cares are named after!
Ay! Me parece muy deliciosa. Me qustaria muchissima celebrar la hermosura del cuerpo con los ojos, los dedos, y la lengua. Viva la revolucion!
What a way to celebrate Mexican independence day!
Mexican Independence Day is The Sixteenth of September.
Mexican independence day is September 16th. The 5th of May celebrates the defeat of the French by the Mexican army in a battle at Puebla. Cinco de Mayo is mostly celebrated in the US by mindlessly drunk college kids, and why not? That’s what they are here for.
Technically it doesn’t even celebrate the defeat of the French either. They ‘pushed’ back the French is all. The Mexican army was looking at a war on two fronts with the Americans and the French so by pushing the French back it eased their problems greatly and was considered a great military victory, but not a defeat. The French, no doubt, felt wronged that they weren’t properly defeated and have endeavored to be defeated in as many battles as possible to make up for that lost opportunity. (sarcasm for those who lack the sarcasm gene) There really is no celebration at all in Mexico. This is just another day.
The holiday was entirely invented by bars and alcohol manufacturers here in America to sell more booze. Just the existence of Tequila Shots involved in today’s celebration should prove it’s American. Good Tequila is sipped, never guzzled down in a shot. (Okay, that was a bit more sarcasm there, historically it was used as a battle cry during the civil war and got its start there)
What it does is give a chance for Mexican-American to celebrate their heritage…and drunk college kids get another excuse to imbibe cheap liquor.
It is celebrated, however modestly, in Puebla. Losing a battle is a defeat however short lived.
Sorry Nick, but I expected something a little more…Festive…
You could imagine a fiesta with Mercedes, couldn’t you?
Between Mercedes and Paz Vega, I may just retire there…
I just wonder how well Mercedes bends…
Every time I see your nickname, I think of the Fw-190. It was actually called the Butcher Bird later in its life, but still… that’s what I think of.
Weird how the mind works, eh?
Vaya regalo para los amigos mexicanos…
Nice present for the Mexicans…
Hold the mayo.
