I read about it as well. The judge pointed out that if she’d been doing something less salacious at the time, nobody would have questioned her getting compensation. The fact that other people might be uncomfortable with her having sex wasn’t grounds to deny her claim.

There’s nothing unsafe about the table at all. There’s a small [brown] tube that slides down over the folding joint that prevents it from folding back any further. It can’t collapse that way. The picture even shows it but the person who took the time to enlarge and highlight for us didn’t recognize what he was looking at.
And for anyone who hasn’t seen locking mechanism before here is a slightly better picture of one. Look at the tube in the middle.

The problem is that the tube needs to go down more to be fully secure. Look how far down the other one is.
The safety lock won’t slide into place until the folding brace is fully extended, and the brace won’t fold once the safety lock is in place. Ergo, the safety lock was not slid into place over the joint and the table can collapse.
More to the point, and your error notwithstanding, you’re an annoying fucking pedant who’s always looking to correct people.

Considering the lack of attention to setting up the table in a safe and sane manner, by a competent person, this should have been posted for WTF Friday.
I will expect either something completely not WTF, or a safety violation far more extreme (such as a crane not completely secure and falling out a vagina)

To cameltoe. My original comment was not directed toward anyone so i was not looking to correct anyone. It however was simply pointing out a general error, one which I still stand by. You see it doesn’t really take a genius to figure out a table locking mechanism, although you appear to have trouble which speaks volumes for your IQ. You see, I own a table with the same locking mechanism. I simply went over and pushed up on the joint. The tube slides up slightly like that and is still locked into place, that’s how I know what I know. But instead of shutting the fuck up you chose to personally attach someone making a perfectly reasonable comment. As previously stated, it speaks volumes about your IQ. Have a nice day.
jodeum/Jodeum2, you’re ALWAYS looking to correct people. I’ve noticed it for some time now and yesterday I happened to be in a foul enough mood to call you out. (You usually try to correct other commenters but this time you disputed the premise of the POD, so I suppose one could say you directed your original comment towards Nick.)
Whether you’re right or wrong about the stability of the table is immaterial. My point is that you’re a pain in the ass on a regular basis. Nobody likes a know-it-all, especially one whose first defense against criticism is to brag about their salary. But you should realize I’m doing you a service here, since most people will bite their tongues and let you continue to make yourself unpopular.

Not fully engaging the locking mechanism can cause problems if the weight shifts, say by the lady on our right hitting it with her head. That might also explain how the locking collar got knocked up to that position in the first place. Also, mounting the table on cinder blocks does not look too safe either.
I honestly can’t imagine why anyone would go to the trouble of holing a perfectly good table, locking collar and cinder-blocks notwithstanding….
