Changed the model for Heather on the Women of Summer Camp page. The change is due to licensing issues with the original model (Dariya). DOMAI asked their affiliates to remove all images of her, so I had to find a replacement. September 2, 2007:
Changed the model for Kendall on the Women of Summer Camp page. I didn’t have a choice this time. Due to licensing issues with the original model (Gigi), DOMAI asked their affiliates to remove all images of her. So I had to find a replacement. <sigh> Truth be told, I was never very happy with Gigi-as-Kendall. Her body was close enough, but her face wasn’t. The new model, Ashley from FEMJOY, is closer to my vision of Kendall. Even better, I have several HD videos of her. I’ll see what I can do about streaming or linking to them.
August 28, 2007:
Created a new category on the Links page: Adult Sites. It contains non-nude adult sites, like erotic podcasts and the sex toy stores. I’ll add more links as I find them. (The former “Favorite Sites” is now “Other Fun Sites” toward the bottom of the list.)
Added Nobilis Erotica to the new Adult Sites section on the Links page.

Still more tweaks. I think I have the layout adjusted to where it will still look good in 800x600. The majority of users will get the full benefit of their larger screen resolutions, but the legacy users won’t have a horizontal scroll bar (except on the larger Pictures of the Day).

The changes look good on my testing machines, but please contact me if you find a problem.
July 25, 2007:
More tweaks, as well as bigger thumbnail pictures. The bigger thumbnails are for the Men and Women of Summer Camp. With more browser real estate, I resized to 192px thumbnails (up from 150px). You’ll need to Refresh (F5) to update your cache. Also, I updated the random men’s pics on the Men of Summer Camp page to the new width. Remember to Refresh.

The tweaks: the error pages are updated for the new look; the search now logs search requests properly (a left-over permission problem from the move to the new server); and minor mods to the CSS and Javascript.

Once again, please contact me if you find a problem, or if anything doesn’t look/act the way you think it should.

Minor tweaks, along with a major one. The minor tweaks address some of the problems with wide browser windows. The major tweak is part of the same thing, but it was a lot more work: all the Summer Camp book pics are now wider, so I had to re-crop and re-output all the random pics for the the Extras and Women of Summer Camp pages. (I still have to update the men’s pics, but I need to find the originals first.)

As usual, please contact me if you find a problem, or if anything doesn’t look/act the way you think it should.

July 23, 2007:
Major site redesign, but it’s mostly under the hood. The most visible change is the new title bar, but the most far-reaching one is the change from a fixed-width layout to browser-width (flexible).

The “old” site was designed for users with 800x600 displays, but the majority of visitors these days have 1024x768 (or larger). Hence the update, which gives me a lot more flexibility on things like the Beauty of the Day and Weekend Gallery pages. (NOTE: The Weekend Gallery page is a working template for next week. Check some of the archives and you’ll see the difference.)

The site is heavily dependent upon CSS, so the changes were relatively easy to implement, but they still involved several days of work. Still, I have lots of work left to do: new short story title graphics, new error pages, new server-generated pages, and a laundry list of other things.

Play with the new site and let me know what you think—post your comments to the Forum.

Set a firm release date for Book 4: Feb. 28.
Changed the model for Christy on the Women of Summer Camp page. Once again, it was a variety issue—I had 110 images of Dora-as-Christy, but they were from one photo shoot… from 2003. Not a lot of variety there. The new model, Jenni from FEMJOY, has a much wider variety to choose from. She’s a currently working model, so I’ll have even more to choose from in the future. Better still, I have 3 videos of her, which I might be able to stream (as long as the bandwidth doesn’t get out of hand).

Added a URL field to the Picture of the Day page, for permanent linking. (Many people want to link to a specific picture, but they end up linking to the main picture page, which changes daily. The URL field will make it easier to link to a specific POD.)
January 14, 2007:
Re-added arrows to the Beauty of the Day pages. I still didn’t want all the clutter of the main site logo, page title headlines, footers, etc., so I created new, slimmer logos. You’ll see when you click a page. (Here’s a usage tip for you click-through-’em-in-a-blur folks: start with the last picture and click toward the first. Because the picture widths vary, the Next arrows move around, but the Previous arrows stay put. So you can hover your mouse cursor over one spot and simply click when you want to see the “next” picture. Like I said, it’s a trick for you impatient pervs. Am I helpful, or what? ;-)
January 13, 2007:
Major updates to the Beauty of the Day (formerly Daily Nudes).
- Changed the directory from /potd to /pod. Please update your links.
- Rearranged the picture line-up.
- Completely revised the full-size picture pages. The new pages show just the pictures, with a small link at the bottom. The design gives more browser real estate to the images, without all the clutter of the site logo, navigation links, etc. The new design removes the ability to click through the BoD pages one after the other, but I think the better image display is a good trade-off.
- Dropped New Nude City and The New Nude. The picture pages are still there if you want to bookmark them, but I don’t link to them from the Beauty of the Day page. (I don’t want the BoD page to turn into a clearinghouse for every nude site on the net. So I’m choosy about which sites I showcase.)
- Created a new Fine Art Nudes sub-page, with 1 original and 5 new daily pictures. Didier Carré is a fine art photographer, so his site moved to the new page. The new sites are: Craig Morey, Richard Murrian, J.C. Gilbert, Michelle7, and Michelle7 Erotica. I put the Fine Arts link on the bottom-right of the page, with a darker background to set it apart. I’m sure you’ll enjoy the new pics as much as I do. I’ll write reviews when I have the chance.
Minor updates to the Weekend Galleries (formerly Weekly Nude Galleries). The new name is less cumbersome, and accurately reflects the update schedule (every Friday). In addition to the name change, the archive pages got a bit of a tune-up.
January 2, 2007:
Added links to Nickipedia, a wiki Encyclopedia of Summer Camp. Anyone can edit articles at Nickipedia, just like its namesake, Wikipedia. I also added a link in the footer navigation links on each page (it replaced the Tips & Tricks link).

Updated all the feedback forms. The old CGI script (cgiemail) had a number of exploits, and I was beginning to get tons of feedback spam. So now I’m using a more secure Perl script (TFMail). I had to change ~20 pages, but the new script is more flexibile, which is nice. In any event, contact me if you have any problems with one of the feedback forms.

Added a site info file for A9 toolbar users.

Posted PDF and RTF versions of Summer Camp - Book 3: Kendall. Once I add the A4 and text versions, I’ll drop support for the other file formats (LIT, PDB, etc.). The other formats will still be available on the FTP site, but I won’t keep them updated. The RTF file should be all you need to create whatever format you want. I will take reader submissions and host them on my FTP site, though. So if you create a format you’d like to share, send it to me and I’ll post it.
Posted an updated US PDF and a new RTF version of Summer Camp - Book 2: Gina. I’ll add a new A4 and text version soon. (I’ll update the B1 files too, when I have the time.) But like B3, once I update everything, I’ll drop support for the other formats.

Changed the model for Erin on the Women of Summer Camp page. I had a ton of images for the former model, but she didn’t look good in any of them. (They were all shot by one photographer, who made her look goggle-eyed and puffy-lipped, not to mention concentration camp-thin. Definitely not attractive.) The new model doesn’t have quite the sweet innocence of the former model, but she looks a lot more like my mental image of Erin. She also looks like a younger version of the Beth model, which is what I envisioned.

November 12, 2005:
Changed the model for Ash on the Women of Summer Camp page. Despite having a wealth of images to choose from for the former model, I still had a hard time finding ones I liked. So I decided to switch models.
Changed the model for Stacy on the Women of Summer Camp page. This change is probably going to be controversial. I like the former Stacy model—I think she’s perfect. The problem? I had only had only one set of images (20), yet more than half of them were ususable, because the model was in a waterfall, and looked like a drowned rat. I literally had less than a half-dozen “good” images to choose from. So that’s why the Stacy images hadn’t changed since I originally put them up. I have many more images of the new model, so I can change them when I feel like it. And although she doesn’t have the same vulnerable waif look of the former model, the new girl is very close to my mental image of Stacy. I hope you like her. I do.
October 30, 2005:
Changed the model for Gina on the Women of Summer Camp page. The new model is closer to my mental image. I also changed the image on the Summer Camp - Book 2 page. (And for everyone who liked the other model better, please don’t send me e-mail complaining about the change. I liked Aria too, but aside from her skin tone, she wasn’t all that close to my mental image of Gina. Trust me, I know my characters.)

Updated the individual Women of Summer Camp and Men of Summer Camp pages. While the differences might seem cosmetic, the HTML changed significantly, from a table-based layout to a CSS-based layout with <div> and <span> elements. You’ll have to Refresh (F5) your browser to reload the CSS file.
Added bio information to each of the individual Women of Summer Camp and Men of Summer Camp pages. In addition, I added the same bio info to the index pages. Hover over any of the links on an index page and you’ll see what I mean.

Created Gallery pages for the Women and Men of Summer Camp. They’re not linked from any page yet (except this one, of course), because I haven’t decided where to link them from. Also, in order to get the thumbnails to fit 4-up, I had to down-size them to 150px (from 160px), but the change is slight. Besides, the full-size images are the important ones. You might have to Refresh (F5), since the CSS changed. Dial-up users beware, though, the pages are large (especially the one for the women, >500k). (And please don't send me witty feedback like “you left out The Wife.” Comments like that are funny the first time… but after the third or fourth e-mail, the charm fades. After a dozen… well… you get the idea.)

Added several new sites to the Writing Resources section of the Links page.
Modified the search engine indexing. With the help of my Perl guru, we extended search functionality to include story codes, via a meta tag. So you can now search for specific story codes (fex: “mff” or “voy”). Unfortunately, the search is case-insensitive, so it doesn’t differentiate between “mF” and “mf”. Sorry. For a list of story codes, check out Story Codes for Readers from ASSTR.
Modified the search engine max-file size. The default setting is to index only the first 64k of any file, so most of the Summer Camp chapters were only being half indexed. Not good. I increased the max-size to 192k, which should be more than enough for every HTML file on the site.
March 5, 2005:

Changed the image of Wren in the random rotation. (Don’t ask me why I changed it so soon… I just like the new image better. Go figure.)
Fixed a little problem with the random image of Kara… javascript array screw-up. <sigh>
Changed several little things in the search interface. One big change: the engine will match all search terms by default. The major search engines (Google, Yahoo!, etc.) match all terms, and this change brings performance in line with user expectations.
Added three new search indexes, one for each Summer Camp book. I’ll add more as I get around to it, for searching different parts of the site.
Added a “Match whole word” feature to the Advanced Search page.
Set up a linux cron job to automatically rebuild the search indexes at 10 am GMT, when my server traffic usually hits its nadir. On a side note: I used VI (the line editor) for the first time in a long time—it was just like I remember it… just as cryptic and user unfriendly as ever. And it proves the rule “never let a software engineer design a user interface.” (Sorry all you engineers, but it’s true.)

Installed a new search engine. The default search from by my hosting provider was lame, lame, lame. I’m sure the snooping crowd liked it—you know who you are—but I hated it. I couldn’t limit the files it indexed, it wasn’t extensible, and forget about customization. In short, it didn’t have panache. It pretty much sucked… except for you nosey people, as I’ve already mentioned. So I went on a quest. With the help and advice from many readers (especially Ted—thanks!), I found an engine I liked better. It’s extremely easy to customize, I can limit indexing (with the robots.txt file, thank you very much), and I can even offer different indexes for different parts of the site (such as Summer Camp-only searches). And as soon as I figure out how to set up a cron job, I can have the server automatically update the indexes every night. How’s that for cool? Anyway, I guess that’s enough gushing about my new search engine. I still have a lot of work to do to customize it and add features, but it’s already in pretty good shape. So, check it out! (Be sure to let me know if you encounter problems or have suggestions.)

I set up server-side redirects for both files, so the old filenames will still work, but please update your RSS reader (and My Yahoo!) to point to the new files. (And I promise I won’t change the filenames again. Sorry.)
Updated the title attributes for the chapter links on the SC-B2 and SC-B3 pages. Hover over the chapter links and you should see the story codes for that chapter (you might need to Refresh the page to see the new codes). At least one reader asked for a link to what the story codes mean, so check out Story Codes for Readers from ASSTR.

Moved the Favorite Sites section to the top of the Links page.
Added <meta> descriptions and copyright info to many pages, although it’s an ongoing process (i.e., I’ve got a lot of pages left to do). Most of you shouldn’t see any difference, but search engines like meta tags.
Changed the titles on many pages, so they’re more descriptive (and less repetitive). This change and the one above have to do with Search Engine Optimization. I’ve been doing some reading, you see, and… well, you get the picture.
Updated the title attributes for the chapter links on the SC-B1 page. Hover over the chapter links and you should see the story codes for that chapter (the title attribute is a wonderful thing, isn’t it?).
Updated the FAQ: removed the question about images of the guys, and changed the link for Scipio Africanus (the last question).

Created the Picture of the Day Archive page (This page has since been removed. - Nick, Jan 13, 2007), with individual links to each image. I’m trying to conserve bandwidth, and the PotD page had grown to 30k, just for the HTML (I’ve trimmed it down to 11k). Also, I moved the thumbnail page links to the bottom of the PotD page—it’s another bandwith conservation thing (each thumbnail page is about 150k of bandwidth, per pageview). With more site visitors, I need to start watching my bandwidth. I don’t want to take things offline, but I also don’t want to have to buy extra bandwidth each month (at US$3.95/Gb!). So, I’m making little changes that should help keep things under my 80Gb/month limit.
Added Palm Reader (PDB) versions of SC-B1 and SC-B2 to the FTP downloads directory. (Thanks to Andreas B. for creating them.)

Made a lot of changes. Be sure to refresh your page views (to reload the style sheet).
Enlarged the pictures on the SC main pages (Book 1, Book 2, Book 3, Book 4). I’ll update the Extras page later, since I have to recreate more than a dozen images at the larger size.
Rearranged the layout of the SC Extras page, with the FanFic closer to the top. I also eliminated the separation between B1/B2 girls and B3 girls. Now they’re all on the same list.
Added a More Who’s Who page, for SC-B3 (and SC-B4, in the future). It’s not very complete right now, but I’ll add to it when I have time.
Posted different pictures of Heather on the SC Extras page (jeez, that girl is cute!). I’ll post different pictures of several other girls over the next few weeks. In the meantime, you can see lots of pictures of all the girls on DOMAI.
Made the SC title graphics longer (to fit the new 720 pixel width).
Made the story divs narrower (75%), for easier reading. This should make the reading column about 6½" wide.
Added a container div to all pages. It’s a seemingly minor structural change that makes my life a bit easier. For you HTML gurus, you know why I did it. For everyone else, trust me, it’s better.

Made the main logo a little larger.
Rearranged the order of the links on the home page.
Changed the home page links for the Forum and Mailing List; they now point to the actual Yahoo Groups (instead of to my local sign-up pages).
Updated the SC-B3 Chapter 8 release date.
Added thumbnail pages to the Picture of the Day. Made a lot of minor changes to the PotD archive pages as well.
Added one other tidbit for all you snoopers, but you’ll have to find it on your own. It’s a minor change, but a major detail.

Upgrade my web hosting package to the next level, to handle increased bandwidth demands and to add additional features, such as anonymous FTP access. Additionally, all the text versions of the Short Stories are now linked to the anon FTP (instead of to ASSTR). I can also add FTP uploads, which I may implement (as long as no one abuses it).
July 24, 2004:
Converted all of the Summer Camp HTML files to use Unicode curly quotes (instead of the escape sequences). It should save 5 bytes per curly quote, and that adds up. The site’s bandwidth and throughput are up, too, so I need to upgrade to the next hosting level. But I get Anon FTP access with that level, which is good. Look for it soon. And thanks for reading.
July 23, 2004:
Revised the site’s main masthead graphic. It doesn’t take up as much vertical space, which is good. Several other graphcs had to change to maintain proportions, but that was a snap.
Changed the entire site back to UTF-8 encoding. It’s the wave of the future, and I’m surfing it now. Besides, it’ll save me some bandwidth (due to the encoding of the curly quotes and other typesetting characters).
July 22, 2004:
Removed the T-for-text links from the B1 page. I like the concept, but not the execution. The text directory is still there, however. I’ll add text directories to the other Summer Camp folders as well (soon).

Put “T-for-text” links next to each chapter link on the SC-B1 page. What do you think (remember to Refresh, so your browser reloads the style sheet)? Do they clutter the links? Do they add something? Are they confusing? Post your opinion in the Forum.

Changed the SC main pages (Book 1, Book 2, Book 3, Book 4, Extras) from a table-based layout to a CSS-based layout (with DIVs). Be sure to refresh the page, which will also refresh the CSS file, but if you run into any problems, please contact me. (I also fixed a niggling little problem with floating DIVs not “clearing” in Firefox and other standards-compliant browsers.)

Fixed a lot of little glitchy characters which were left over from the transition from ISO-8859-1 to UTF-8 and then back to ISO-8859-1.

A new site! Welcome to nickscipio.com. I made lots of changes, but most of them are subtle. Two major ones you need to pay attention to: all the URLs are now lower-case, and I changed all file extensions to .html (previously, they were .htm). The structure of the site changed significantly as well, but most users shouldn’t notice the changes. Please contact me if you encounter any problems.
Picture of the Day returns! With a new site and new hosting, I don’t have to worry about overtaxing ASSTR’s limited bandwidth.

Changed all “separator” image alt text to “-----”. Hover your mouse cursor over one of my separators and you’ll see what I mean. I did this for text-only browsers and blind readers (I have at least two… blind readers, that is… I don’t know how many text-only browser users I have).
Fixed a reality problem in Chapter 35 of Summer Camp - Book 2: Gina. (Princeton doesn’t have a business major, darn it. Silly yankees. ;-)

Added an actual web page (with links) for the Short Stories Extras page. You’d be surprised how many people completely missed the link from the What’s New entry and then sent me e-mail asking “where’s the page?” Sheesh! In addition, I moved the short stories HTML files into their own directory (so you’ll need to change your links, if you link directly to any of the main short story pages—the story files themselves didn’t change).
Fixed two typos in SC-B2 (in chapters 5 & 6). Well, one of them wasn’t really a typo, but it was awkwardly worded.

Added lots of fun stuff. First, I added new navigation links to each chapter of Summer Camp, at the top and bottom. They were tricky, but I bent the CSS to my will.
Added <acronym> tags to all the alphabet soup on this page. Check it out: hover your mouse cursor over an acronym (such as CSS) and see what your browser shows you. How cool is that? I’ll be adding <acronym> tags to most of my other pages, as I find the acronyms. Have I written “acronym” enough?
Added an icon for the site. This should work in most browsers, so if you bookmark the site, your browser should display my custom icon.
Revised the Legal page.

Broke the Short Stories page into three separate pages: Jazz Club Stories, Short Stories, and Flash & Sting Fiction. The old stories pages was getting too long and took a lot of scrolling to navigate. Hopefully, this should be cleaner.
Added Desdemona’s Erotic Story Contests to the Awards page.
Added new sites to my Favorite Sites on the Links page, including a link to Hegre-Art, a site with beautiful nudes (much like DOMAI).
Removed two of the navigation links in the footer (the Forum and the mailing list). They’re really only needed on the main page, and I wanted to clean up the footer nav.

New pictures of Gina on the Extras page. Aria, from DOMAI, is closer to Gina in complexion and general looks, but Gina’s breasts are a little bigger. <shrugs> It’s not easy finding a Gina look-alike.
Implemented some incremental changes as well as a few major ones. I tightened up a lot of the lists, getting rid of scores of <br /> tags in the process. And I got rid of more tables. I think I’m down to the bare minimum number of tables-for-positioning. The major change? A new Summer Camp background color; it’s subtly different, but I think it works better with the more vibrant red.
November 5, 2003:
The next step on the road to the future, XHTML. After a day’s work, I believe the site is fully XHTML 1.0 Transitional compliant. Also, I've been testing with both Internet Explorer 6 and Mozilla 1.5. Despite some minor rendering differences between the two, the site is consistent (and should be consistent on Netscape 6+). As usual, let me know if I broke anything.
November 4, 2003:
Another step on the road to clean HTML and CSS. This time, I removed all the legacy CSS and presentation markup from the HTML. And perhaps the most sweeping change of all? Relative font sizes. Yep, I finally caved and changed all my font sizes from absolute to relative. That means you can change the font size in your browser, and it should resize across the site. Hopefully, I didn’t break anything. Of course, let me know if you spot any problems.
November 3, 2003:
Posted the first part of the new Jazz Club story, Priceless.
Updated the title graphics for all the Summer Camp pages. In addition, I changed the “SC” color from blood red to the bolder site-wide red.
Another major internal redesign. I’m modernizing the site and making it more structured, placing content markup in the HTML and presentation code in the CSS. In addition to being good, clean code, this reduces the size of most files. Very cool. Let me know if you spot any problems.

Major internal redesign. I’m trying to bring the entire site into compliance with the HTML 4.01 Trasitional standard. I’m also trying to eliminate the use of tables (as much as possible). You shouldn’t notice the changes, but there are many of them behind the scenes. Let me know if you spot any problems.

Fixed minor text-size issues throughout the site. Changed a lot of my <i> tags to <em> (which should make my HTML more compliant). Cleaned up a few things, nothing major.

Added links to the text version for most stories (no text versions for Flash and Sting fiction).

A complete update of Summer Camp - Book 1: Susan. I’ve fixed a lot of the little typos many of you have kindly reported, and I think I’ve even corrected all of my lie/lay issues. There are a lot of other minor “technical” writing improvements as well, but no major changes. The text versions on my FTP site are also updated. When I have the time, I’ll update the PDFs as well. Thanks again to everyone who reported a typo or homonym error.
