Dear Islamic Radicals,
Enjoy your martyrdom. The sooner the better.
Most of us won’t even notice when you die. We’ll just
go about our lives, the same as always.
Oh, and we’ll write the history books; the winners always do.
You won’t even be a footnote.
A contrast to the Islamic State.
You have to wonder if history will see this time as the Muslim version of the Spanish inquisition.
for the Spanish it was a temporary insanity during nation formation, not comparable
I’d convert the tall one on the left.
Now THIS is the correct way to protest! Thank you, Nick, for one of the better WTF Friday posts!
I think I read about this group and they are largely based out of France (one leader being an ex-pat Russian who got on the wrong side of Putin and she had to leave Russia).
My local paper (The Hamilton Spectator) ran a political cartoon yesterday highlighting both conservative muslims and christian opposition to the new Ontario sex-ed curriculum. Theocracy is not a viable basis for government and it’s enlightening that so many religions have such strict codes of behaviour for women and sex.
The stupidity that humans are capable, when they believe god is on their side, never ceases to amaze me. When someone foolishly tries to convert me by saying that, “Oh Stalin, Hitler, Pol Pot, etc. were all atheists. Ergo, being an atheist means you are evil. Don’t you want to be righteous and go to heaven?” Hitler was a Christian. Apartheid, America’s crime of slavery, the Crusades, the Bosnian War, “The Troubles” in Northern Ireland, the Spanish Inquisition, were all religious, had a religious component, or used religion as a justification. Most of the wars in the middle east are religious sectarian. I would rather live a good life, not believing in heaven, than commit evil in order to go to some imagined paradise.
Now that I’m off of the soapbox, this one’s for the science geeks out there. To illustrate the binary nature of many elementary particles, this is an example of the anti-burqa.
I couldn’t have said it better TC.
Hey! Someone else from the Hammer!
Oskee Wee Wee
This is the FEMEN group that started in the Ukraine and moved to Paris. The blond on the right is their leader. There is a YouTube article where three of them are sticking crucifixes up their assholes in front of the Vatican. Other videos showing them disrupting Catholic services. Lots of lesbian bitches. They have actually been pretty quiet for the last year. They really have not been able to catch on in the U.S. but they are active in Canada. They like to appear topless and then really fight with the police when they are being restrained. Nothing that a good taser can’t handle.
(SARCASM)
Uppity bitches who don’t know their place.
(/SARCASM)
You would be surprised what a stun gun could do if applied on the inside of their upper leg when they are kicking and screaming. If the cops did that a few time, there would be no further problems. Google FEMEN and you will find some juicy YouTube articles.
To quote you, moluv1.: ” Lots of lesbian bitches.” and “Nothing that a good taser can’t handle.” just shows where you belong in the great scheme of things.
If you did your homework and Googled FEMEN and educated yourself regarding FEMEN tatics, you might understand some of he problems this group has caused. This is a problem group.
These islamic radicals deserve their place in the history books. As an additional example for worst human behavior ever.
Personally, I dislike radicalism, including radicalism against religion. Religion is important, in all its occurrences, but none of them should assume that they know the whole truth. And a religion that demands to kill others because of their belief is a contradiction in itself. If you can believe the moderate muslims, this is even true for the Islam.
Corollary: Islamic State is a terror gang disguised as Islam. Christianity (for example during the crusades) often did the same. Sad. And our girls do what many people do: they confuse the gang with god.
By the way: Is that SNOW on the pavement behind them?
“Religion is important, in all its occurrences, but none of them should assume that they know the whole truth. ”
Please name ONE contribution to the human race, by the religion, Atouk!
Multiple forms of architecture, spread of literacy, philosophy grew out of the questioning of religious doctrine.
As religion has been part of human society since the first charismatic person made others believe in the boogyman, and his ability to save everyone from the boogyman (for a price) religion has contributed to the advancement of society. Whether it intended to or not.
I find it very sad that a small portion of any group can color how an entire people are viewed. Islam society at one time was at the forefront of scientific thinking. it was in the 18th century thru today that their radical factions have striped them of that accomplishment.
I have little use for religion, and zero use for radicalism or any form, whether it be religious, political, or any of the ‘isms. Listening to the news every morning it is those radicals who insist on destroying in the name of their ideology and refuse to listen to others as that would likely cripple their argument.
As for spreading literacy, I am not so sure. Catholizism was quite keen at keeping people in uneducated dark. With a reason. With education came the ages of reason and enlightenment, and you see what it did to Christianity (pushed it away from the center of society, in many region it’s on its way to the margin and still accelerating).
My point is: A common religion shapes a society and gives it a common way of seeing things. Which is basically a good thing. A society falls apart if everybody sees things in their own way. And when a religion is misused, it can make a society bad. I doubt that civilisation and ethic could have been built by pure philosophy. Fear of gods have always been a means to keep people in line. And as there was this preacher that told us that God loves us, unconditionally, it was only logical to nail him to a cross for that. And the problem was quickly remedied by perverting Christianity into Roman imperial religion.
It sure looks like snow. My guess these ladies would not be able to keep up this effort for long without risking hypothermia, even if it was freezing ground with warmer air. It can’t be that much warmer, maybe 3 degrees Celsius.
Um, yes. Yes it is. But that’s not what you’re expected to be looking at, as you well know.
Oh, how I long for the world without burning bush mythology of goat herding illiterate, superstitious tribes of bronze age Palestine!!!
Sort of like the commentary about Star Trek. Why were there no Muslims on the Enterprise, or anywhere in the Federation? Because it’s the FUTURE!
And if you don’t like it, read Calihpate, by Tom Kratman. Or some of his other books, including (and especially today) A Desert Called Peace – and think about how we SHOULD respond.
I suppose, if you are going to speak (your version of) truth to power, they have one way of getting power’s attention.
But what does it say about their truth?
Seems to me that quite a few here needs to read up on what Femen stands for, and what they’ve done so far, and what they are doing.

They defend women against opression and religious stupidities.
The picture is from outside the Egyptian Embassy in Stockholm in December 2012.

And none of the commenters above mentioned what happened 14 years ago on this date.
While I basically agree with their stance in terms of the oppression of women under the patriarchy and religion, their stance against sex work is actually anti-feminist. Men on the whole need sex more than women, and, because we’re not in a matriarchal society or a gifting society as one would more likely find in prehistoric days where those needs are met much more often, then for a woman to be able to capitalize on her sexuality in commercial form benefits the community in so many ways.
FEMEN rightly protests sex trafficking as well as pimping–the two terms are now equated, unfortunately–but while both terms signify forced or coercive actitivites, neither term must be confused with voluntary sex work. They are very different.
